Caption

Matt Watson, MSC Fisheries Outreach Officer in Western Australia helps out at the Peel Harvey mullet fishery near Mandurah, Western Australia in September 2015.

Matt is hauling in the mullet with commercial fisher Damien Bell. He has a WA commercial fishing licence which allows him to do so.

Matt says: "there's no better way to learn how a fishery operates than to get stuck in".

The photo was taken during a visit with Makoto Suzuki from MSC Japan to look at small scale fishery accessibility into the MSC program.

(The fishery is expected to be certified in June 2016.)
